• DIRECT-DRIVE POWER:  Provides superior torque versus a planetary grinder

  • Torque and low RPM are preferred for concrete grinding and coating removal (high RPM grinders are for polishing)

  • Cost:  Direct-drive grinders are 1/4th the cost vs. a planetary grinder

  • Planetary grinders are belt and pulley driven machines, they rely on their extreme weight to grind concrete and remove coatings.  Because of the weight, 230 and 480 volt motors, and often 3-phase voltage is required.

  • Direct-Drive Power:  Creates significantly greater torque than a planetary grinder while requiring less amperage --- operates from a 120 volt, 15/20 amp circuit!
