Filter Numbers & Description

209x & 229x are particulate filters, they are all highly effective against bacteria and droplet-spread virus. They also include a layer of activated charcoal to provide nuisance relief from annoying odors and some fumes until the activated charcoal is been depleted
229x filters use "advanced" filter media, they provide easier breathing through the filter and they last longer. In customer trials they lasted twice as long.
Given the current availability of P100 filters (99% filter efficiency rating) don't overlook the 2078 (95% filter efficiency.) The 2078 provides the same particulate protection as a N95 dust mask but because of the superior seal you get from a half face respirator the protection is better. Additionally, with a P-rated filter you're also protected from oil and non-oil particulates.
Don't forget to consider for your eyes and be sure to test the seal of the respirator each time it is worn. Even the best filter is useless if you don't have a 100% seal around your face (see filter test kit.)
