Determines if the respirator's seal around the wearer's face is acceptable for the respirator to provide the prescribed protection.

A Fit Test is an OSHA requirement for use with any tight fitting disposable or re-useable respirator or mask.

Model 2041 is equipped as follows:

  • Test Hood
  • Nebulizers (2)
  • Cleaning Brush
  • Box of Sensitivity Solution, (6) Ampules
  • Box of Test Solution, (6) Ampules.

Explanation of Components:

Before using a respirator the components in the kit are used in the following order to test the respirators seal to the wearer's face:
  1. Sensitivity Solution --- used to determine that the subject can smell and recognize the solution
  

Subject Testing: Respirator Fit Test.
  1. Bitrex Solution --- provides an unmistakable bitter taste to indicate a leak in the respirator's seal around the subject's face.  If the subject does not detect the Bitrex taste, an acceptable respirator fit has been established.
  1. Each of the above solutions are contained in disposable glass ampules for easy pouring into the nebulizers (2 per test kit.)

  • Break-resistant polycarbonate plastic (Lexan®) for easy disassembly for washing
  • Dimensions:  2" x 2" x 7".
