Description:  NMD 80

Mortar and Mortar Smears, cleaned with NMD 80.Powerful Detergent-Based Solution - designed for safe and effective removal of mortar smears, efflorescence, calcite, from masonry surfaces.

It can be used on all masonry substrates including brick, stone, synthetic stone, precast concrete, designer or colored block.  The added buffering ingredients allow NMD 80 to be powerful yet safe enough for glass and anodized aluminum - covering windows & frames not required (always pencil test - take a pencil, dip eraser end in undiluted NMD 80 and touch it to the window and frame.  Allow product to sit for a minute then rinse it off. Observe results after drying.)

NMD 80 is specifically designed for effective cleaning and efflorescence removal without brushing or scrubbing and will leave the cream on the mortar joints.

This project is of special note because the excess mortar on the building was successfully removed using NMD 80.

This project showcases a brick that has a manufacturing process that, once fired, creates a unique textural pattern (this pattern can be seen in the close-up picture of the building).

This brick is made using a higher water content than standard manufacturing processes that can have a tendency to effloresce when cleaned with products not recommended by the manufacturer. 

NMD 80 is the product of choice when cleaning this type of brick.

This building was initially cleaned using a competitor's product that resulted in a clean that was unsatisfactory.

The initial clean left a haze (picture, left).  A test was performed and NMD 80 removed the residual haze as well as providing a successful method for the post construction clean-up.

The removal of the mortar smears from the entire complex resulted in a stunning end result.

 

 Stone, Block, Precast.  The use of NMD 80 over all of the surfaces produced the end result that was worthy of the award.

Many different stones, bricks and blocks including limestone, sandstone, slate, bluestone, ground faced block and bricks with colored mortar were used on this project.

The whole college was cleaned with one single product, NMD 80.

NMD 80 was used for the post-construction clean-up for the complete facade.  NMD 80 was chosen because of the multiple substrates being present and the process was easier using the spray on/spray off method.

Having to avoid different substrates, including glass, wasn't necessary and a lot of labor was saved by not having to mask and protect.

This wall was cleaned by two first-time users of NMD 80.  After equipment set up, it took approximately 1 hour to clean the whole wall, using less than 5 gallons of NMD 80 and less than 220 gallons of water.
