- charcoal filters even when the respirator is not being worn continues to attract dust, bacteria and moisture which prematurely contaminates the filer's hygiene and shortens its life
GVS Synthetic HESPA Filter Media
- ensures high filtration protection and low breathing resistance to assure less fatigue for the user
- pleats on the filter increase the filter's surface area to capture at least 99.97% of 0.3 micron airborne particles without increasing its physical size
- moisture resistant
P100 Rating: captures 99.97% of 0.3 micron airborne particles and is strongly resistant to oil mist -- from asbestos, silica, spreading of insecticides by spraying, spores, bacteria, you can't do any better than a P100 rated filter.

Elipse filters do not have any activated charcoal which, by its nature, attracts any type of airborne particle like a magnate:
- Elipse filters are shipped installed in the mask

Electro static or activated charcoal has an incredible adsorption ability to attract and effectively clean airborne dust particles and vapors by electro-statically binding the pollutants to its vast surface area even when you are not using or breathing air through the respirator.

With the filtering properties of the charcoal - if the filter is left exposed on a work bench, the ground, in a tool box (even for small durations) - what you paid for will continue to attract and absorb the airborne dust and vapor pollutants.

Benefits of a Non-Charcoal Filter

Airborne dust and bacteria are NOT drawn or attracted to the pleated filter. The GVS Elipse P100 filters can be left exposed on a work bench and one year later they'll still be effective.
Filters are included and installed in all P100 Respirators - competitive models have to sale their "charcoal" filters separately and they are sealed in plastic.

Maintaining a GVS Elipse Respirator
CLEANING the FACE PIECE (remove filters) immerse the face piece in a warm cleaning solution, the water temperature should not exceed 120° Fahrenheit scrub with soft pad until clean Add neutral detergent if necessary, do not use cleaners containing lanolin or other oils Disinfect the facepiece by soaking in a solution of quaternary ammonia disinfectant of dilute sodium hypochlorite (30 ml household beach in 7.5 L of water) of another suitable disinfectant
CLEANING the FILTERS GVS HEPA P100 filters are made of a synthetic, water resistance media They can be wiped with a damp cloth, disinfectant wipe or gently blown clean with compressed air as to not degrade the media They cannot be submerged into water nor any other cleaning solution as it will degrade the filter media.
