17" High Torque Low RPM Grinder
--- Dual Voltage 120 & 240, Direct Drive

$2,340.00

Concrete Grinding, Coating Removal, Polishing
--- Unsurpassed in Power, Performance, Durability, Simplicity, Production

  • 360° Internal Dust Pick-Up - collects airborne dust and debris in the brush cover, directs it to the built-in dust control
  • Floating head - ensures the tooling grinds and scrapes flat and fast, follows the floor’s contour, prevents dig and ring marks
  • Powered by a TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled) Motor - motor is protected from dust, debris, slurry
  • 11:1 Gear Ratio - high torque to drive scrapers & metal diamonds
  • Wheels-Down Grinder - with the two rear wheels on the ground, productivity, worker fatigue and the learning curve are improved 120%!

DIRECT DRIVE vs. PLANETARY MACHINE

DIRECT DRIVE - energy and efficiency is maximized while amp draw and friction loss is minimized vs. a planetary gearbox which spreads to 2, 3 and more heads.

Maintenance is simple and minimal.

PLANETARY DRIVE - design is used to increase RPM for polishing.  With the increase in RPM, Torque decreases.

FX75-175B, USA Engineer Design

  • Dual Voltage:  120 or 240 volt, easy to switch - 7.9 maximum amp draw @ 120 volt

  • Foot Operated Tilt Back for Easy Transporting

  • Dual steel operating triggers with negative pressure on/off switch

  • Disassembles for easy handling down stairs

  • 2" x 8" non-marking load bearing, ball bearing wheels

  • Thumb-operated safety switch with comfort cushion grips

  • Includes removal weights with (4) 20 lb plates and locking pins
  • Wheels-Down Machine vs. Wheels-up (i.e. swing machine, photo right.)  Swing machines are used in the janitorial profession to buff and wax floors.  For concrete grinding, unskilled workers can become experts within minutes and worker fatigue is reduced 120% using a wheels-down machine.

Know Your Market  The type of equipment needed starts with understanding the project size and your target market [i.e. concrete polishing vs. coating removal and grinding.]

Concrete Grinders  Can be characterized as planetary or rotary.  Understanding the difference between the two technologies will enable you to choose the right grinder to smooth, prep, level or polish a concrete floor.

Planetary Gearbox
  • Gear design allows the grinder to move in a straight line across the floor with relative ease, which means greater flexibility and less struggle for operators

  • Best used on less aggressive jobs such as smoothing out a concrete floor or preparing smaller floors for an epoxy coating

  • Gearbox is spread to 2, 3, 4 and more heads, the design typically provides more torque during starting and then transferred to increased RPM speeds for polishing.

Summary:  Best for polishing.

Rotary - Direct Drive
Wheels-Down
  • Gear design is a direct connection from the motor to the grinding head which maximizes energy and efficiency while reducing amp draw and avoids friction loss and wear that occurs with an offset planetary gearbox

  • Maintenance is minimal and the purchase price is less because the planetary gearbox is eliminated.

  • Direct connection from the motor eliminates belts and pulleys that are in planetary grinders

  • Design optimizes the grinder's weight and rotational speed while maintaining high torque which a planetary grinder does not

  • Wheels-Up vs. Wheels-Down Machine
Rotary machines with "wheels-up" are harder to operate and requires more training for operators
    > Skilled and unskilled users can take advantage of the direct drive / wheels-up design to perform more intensive tasks such as removing heavy mastic or thick layers of paint from a concrete surface.
